                  HALLOWEEN 2013 – By : MYT CR8TiV™

it’s OCTOBER 31st at dawn the children will thirst,
for the fun sized sweets and their sacks filled with treats.

dress up from head to toe, knocking on the doors of strangers they don’t know.
trick or treat is what they say halloween is here today.

moms and dads walk down the blocks hoping their children don’t get any rocks.

they’ll walk for hours which is good exercise but when they are home comfy inside.
the children will empty their heavy treat sacks and eat what they favor til mom said to stop. from choco chews, licorice sticks, to lollipops.

as it get’s late into the night the children head to bed, with Stomach full of candy and fond memories in their head.

tomorrow is school and with stories to share, they close their eyes shut and snuggle their teddy bear.

halloween has come and gone, but for the adults it’s just begun.

Dancing and prancing with halloween booze. Dressed up as zombies complete with some ooze.

We party all over deep into the night not afraid anything that may cause some frights.

Children and adults will all head to bed. Along with the zombies woken up from the dead.

Happy and smiling of the fun they just had.

Halloween is over but don’t feel so sad …

the fun never ends, as when the sunrises the new adventures are around the bend.

Glue Gun .vs. E-6000 Glue

Untitled

Hello … today I’m going to do a Side by Side review of the Glue Gun versus the E6000 Glue. I have done side by side product reviews before like my post on the Translucent Liquid Sculpey versus the Sculpey Bake and Bond. It wasn’t exactly a review but more of a caution to not buy the wrong product like I did. I bought the Sculpey Bake and Bond bcuz it was a few dollars cheaper than the TLS “Translucent Liquid Sculpey” and later found out they’re totally different products. I don’t wanna ramble on about the differences between the two you can just look for that blog post if you wanna know more about it.

But this topic is about comparing the Glue Gun and the E6000 Glue. Many crafters use the E6000 glue as a strong permanent adhesive for things like gluing a clay bead or charm to a bezel or gluing down a resin charm somewhere. I usually just use a Glue gun and found it to adhere pretty well and strong. I’m currently working on a commissioned art project and I was gluing down polymer clay sculptures onto a wood base. Most of them that I had glued down with my glue gun stuck pretty permanently but one had come undone and my husband suggest I use a stronger glue for this. Since alot of crafters use the E6000 glue I thought I’d give it a try.

So below is my list of PROs .vs. CONs for both glues. I’m gonna start with the E6000 glue. This is purely a matter of opinion as some might like the E6000 glue over the Glue Gun and some might agree with my opinion of the E6000 glue. So please do not comment or email me defending that E6000 glue is the greatest or whatever.

E6000 Glue :

PROs : It’s Industrial Strength – Permanent Bond – Can be applied for many uses – Dries Clear

CONs : Very strong odor – Fumes are Hazardous to your health if inhaled – Strong Health Risk Warning label such as possibly can cause Kidney damage, nausea, vomiting, instability, etc. – says it takes 2 minutes to adhere but recommends 24+ hrs to fully cure – very messy and the E6000 glue tends to ooze outta the tube on it’s own – if you don’t clean the nozzle the cap becomes permanently glued on

Glue Gun :

PROs : No hazardous fumes – Dries quickly – Also can be applied on many surfaces – Easy to use – Can buy different types of Glue Sticks like Glitter sticks, Fabric sticks, and Super Strength Glue sticks – Easy clean up – Reusable via purchasing more Glue Sticks

CONs : Leaves spider-web like strings – Must wait for glue to cool a little before touching with fingers – Chances of accidentally burning yourself – Glue may not stick to some surfaces – strength of adhesion varies depending on the craft it’s being used for.

I would have to say I’m more in favor of the Glue Gun mainly bcuz the Glue Gun sticks are generally non-toxic and does not give off hazardous fumes that are toxic to your health. Just inhaling the E6000 glue fumes seems to be a dangerous health risk that can damage your kidneys as the warning label on the tube states. I dunno about you but I don’t think I wanna be working with a product that has such a strong health risk warning label on it. I get nervous just working with Armature wire as it states it contains lead and can cause cancer and/or reproductive harm. My suggestion and rule of thumb is whenever crafting with materials like these … WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES !!

Overall I prefer to use my Glue Gun over the E6000 glue. I’ve never had any issues with the Glue Gun glue not properly adhering. The reason one of my clay items didn’t stick was probably bcuz I need to get a better Glue Gun. (-__-) The Glue Gun I have been using I bought from the 99¢ store so you can’t expect much from a $1 Glue gun. As the phrase goes … You get what you paid for. I plan to buy a *NEW* Dual-Temp Glue Gun when I get some extra money. If there’s a specific brand/model you’d suggest I buy please feel free to let me know.

Try to avoid using products that are labeled as hazardous to your health when crafting. I don’t think I want to use E6000 glue again and if I needed something to permanently adhere I’d probably just use Super Glue. It bonds faster than E6000 and even though Super Glue also has nasty smelling fumes it’s not as bad as the E6000 glue. With Super Glue fumes you at most lose a couple brain cells but nothing as hazardous as E6000. I hope this comparison is helpful and you think about using something else.

The hardware store often might have strong adhesives better than E6000 which can be used for crafting. Sometimes it’s okay to think outside the craft store and go to a hardware store for craft items. Maybe I’ll try that Gorilla glue for my crafts. I’ll post about that if I ever do try it out. Hope this all helps !! Happy Crafting and as always … B3 iNSPiR3D … B3 B0LD … B3 CR8TiV ~ MYT CR8TiV™

Found this on Facebook and felt it’s the perfect thing to post here on MYT CR8TiV™. What better way to start off your weekend than to do something CR8TiV ? Being CR8TiV is my passion and I try to be CR8TiV everyday from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. This list is great and I pretty much already do majority of what’s on the list. But I figured I’d share it with you and help inspire you to be CR8TiV as well.  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and do something CR8TiV !!

***MYT CR8TiV™ UPDATE***

I wanna update you on a few things I’ve been working on for MYT CR8TiV™. As much as I love this craft blog I would like to also have my own website which I can offer more than just what a blog can offer. I’m hoping to sell my crafts as many of my fans/close friends have suggested I sell the many things I create. Umm … although I will be offering many different things on my website I plan to mainly stick to Polymer clay arts and handrawn arts. I’ll be posting up handrawn greeting cards which you can purchase as well as Polymer clay sculptures and arts. Each item that is available is a unique one of a kind item as there are no two alike and as far as greeting cards go there’s only one design unlike a store bought greeting card there’s multiple identical copies. Each card is unique and the lucky loved one will be receiving the only copy of it’s kind. Same goes for my Polymer clay creations each are different and none are alike. I’ll keep you posted as to when the website will be finished. As of know the website link is MYTCR8TiV.Tripod.com feel free to suggest anything that might enhance the website or make it better. 😉 Keep in touch and as always B3 iNSPiR3D … B3 B0LD … B3 CR8TiV ~ MYT CR8TiV™.
